Infocado
What is Infocado?
Infocado is an internet based system, which has been developed to assist with the collection of more meaningful and timely data on the volume of Avocados entering the Australian market place. It will assist individual packhouses and grower packers make better informed management and marketing decisions.
There are currently four modules in Infocado – the seasonal forecasts, the weekly forecasts, the dispatch and the wholesale modules.
The seasonal forecasts module collects data from individual packhouses and grower packers on their expected monthly dispatch volumes for the next fifteen month period. Reports showing aggregated industry dispatch forecasts by variety and month for the next 15 months are available to Infocado users.
The weekly forecasts module collects data from individual packhouses and grower packers on their expected dispatches on a rolling 4 week basis. The data collected is aggregated and provided in a range of consolidated reports on a weekly basis to Infocado users. Reports show variety and number of trays / bulk packs expected to be dispatched by Infocado users over the coming four weeks based on weekly intervals.
The dispatch module collects more detailed data on product that has been dispatched by packhouses and grower packers across Australia in the previous week. These businesses enter the data online on a weekly basis (at the same time forecast data is entered). This data is then aggregated and a weekly Industry Summary Dispatch Report is made available to participating businesses each Monday.
The weekly Industry Summary Dispatch Report provides detailed information on varieties, fruit size, number of trays / bulk packs, destination markets and market type (wholesale or direct to supermarket).
The wholesale module collects data on volume of receivals, sales and waste from major wholesale markets in Australia. This data is then combined with summarised dispatch data from packhouses to provide a weekly sales report to all Infocado contributors.
There is no cost for participating in Infocado, but participants must be members of Avocados Australia. The Infocado system has been developed by Avocados Australia for the benefit of industry.
